Fishtails and Donuts: The Perfect Holiday Meal

Now that the white stuff is falling across North America on a regular basis, it’s time for Mahindra Roxor owners to get out and have some serious fun. That’s what @overstreet.john did last week, and boy does that sound like a great way to kill an afternoon. Looks like his Roxor was in 2WD for at least some of this video – a quick ticket to getting the back to slide right out. And I must say, it worked very well.

A Brief History, Review, and Test of the Mahindra Roxor

The proprietors of 6.4k-subscriber powersports channel At Your Leisure know a thing or two about testing off-road machines. Their latest fun in the Utah sun involves sand, rocks, and a brand-new Roxor to put to the challenge.

The video begins with a brief overview of the Mahindra Roxor, covering its military heritage and touching on Mahindra’s status as a Jeep contractor – though that’s been a point of contention as of late. The host covers the features of the Roxor while putting it through its paces, straddling rocky escarpments and slippery sand dunes with ease using little more than a set of off-road tires for assistance.

While talking about the Roxor’s off-road capabilities, narrator and driver Chad Hughes remarks: “It’s really stable on those steep climbs. I would be scared to do that in an old Land Cruiser or Bronco,” or any other vintage vehicle with a wheelbase in the 80-inch range and a carburetor that’s prone to stalling or flooding out.

We completely agree.

Mahindra Thar: DUB Edition

Coming to you live from India is this highly modified Thar sporting elaborate and somewhat questionable modifications that set it apart from the crowd. Any crowd.

As you may know, the Mahindra Thar is the Indian-market predecessor to the North American Roxor. It’s been on sale for long enough to become a cornerstone of India’s off-roading culture, and that means they have access to tons of aftermarket parts we have yet to get our hands on.

The short list of upgrades includes a massive Baja-inspired rear bumper with a captive spare, a macho front bumper complete with a brush guard and light bar, a full hard top, a Jeep-style grille, LED headlights, and of course, that very interesting interior. That interior has more fake wood than a Senior Night at a strip club. And that diamond stitch headliner? The Kardashians called, they want their Prada back.

The Mahindra Thar does come with a more carlike interior than the Roxor since it’s a road-going vehicle from the factory. But this? This is on another level.

Cold Starting a Stage 2 Roxor in North Dakota

If you’re not following Abie and his channel abiez yet, do yourself a favor and subscribe now. He puts out more quality Roxor videos per week than anyone else. He’s recently installed a high-lift jack  and a Stage 2 Tune, and today’s video addresses whether that tune will hinder the Roxor’s cold start ability.

And by “cold” I don’t mean “honey, grab my jacket” cold. I mean you’ll get frostbite in a few minutes cold.

After a brief overview of how that Stage 2 tune installs into the Roxor, it’s time to start ‘er up, snow-covered interior and all. It’s times like these when living in North Dakota comes in handy. Most of us can’t demonstrate a cold start at -13 F (-25 C), but thanks to this video we know the Roxor has no trouble firing up at such an extreme temperature.

Fun fact: 45 degrees in Los Angeles feels exactly like -13 in North Dakota.

A Roxor Rescues a Jeep

This is your weekly reminder that the Mahindra Roxor can tow more weight than it weighs. Say that a few times fast, then watch this video of a Roxor nobly rescuing a new-ish Jeep from the grasp of a muddy lakeshore. It gets the job done with only minimal slippage, creating at least a week’s worth of jokes at the Jeep owner’s expense in the process.

Looks like @jreubenshipmypants opted for the big dog special on this Roxor, complete with a soft top, Warn winch, bright-ass light bar, off-road bumpers, and even a windshield. Not too shabby.
