Kawasaki, makers of the Mule, the Ridge and the Teryx SxSs had developed a new all-electric lineup called the NAV 4e, according to Autoweek.

NAV stands for Neighbourhood Activity Vehicle, although Kawasaki says the NAV is a Personal Transportation Vehicle (PTV) and specifically mentions that they are not golf carts or UTVs.

“With premium, sporty design and comfort for the whole family, the NAV isn't just another ride. It's a game changer for the PTV market,” Kawasaki.com said.

A spokesman said “This is a fully built electric PTV, not a UTV,” according to Autoweek.

A PTV is regulated specifically to go under 20 mph on the street, NHTSA said.

Powered by an AC motor mounted in the back, the NAV 4e produces a max of 10.7 kW of power and drives at a max speed of 19 mph, Autoweek said.

There are three models of the NAV 4e as listed on Kawasaki.com, the NAV 4e, the NAV 4e LE, and the NAV 4e Limited.

The standard NAV 4e features a standard lead acid battery, 6 cup holders, grab bars, USB type A outlets, as well as a 2-in hitch receiver, according to their website.

The NAV 4e LE has additional features of a lithium-ion battery, although the NAV 4e Limited has a lithium-ion battery, leatherette seats, a 7-in high-grade full-color TFT screen, a mounted audio system, and more, Kawasaki.com said.
